9/22 - Late Summer | Early Fall Top Water Bite
While fishing last saturday, I managed to catch only 2 bass but they were both on topwater lures!  The bass were nowhere to be found under docks.  We only found fish on the edges of pad fields or near steep drop offs into deeper water.

The first bass hit just below the surface (less than 1 feet) on the River2Sea Larry Dahlberg Diver Frog 60!  I haven't fished this frog much because it sort of got lost in my boxes of tackle.  But I was glad I fished it on this day!

The second bass smashed my Koppers Live Target Bluegill Wakebait right at the boat!

Both videos are below.  Enjoy!

3 Days, 403 Fish, Feeding Bald Eagles!
I was fortunate enough to fish Lake Roosevelt with my ex boss the past 2 weekends!

We fished a full day on 9/8 and put 100 smallmouth and 1 walleye in the boat!  We fished only about 3 hours on 9/9 before being blown off the lake by 35+ mph winds but still put 56 smallmouth in the boat!

We fished a full day on 9/14 and put 121 smallmouth in the boat!  We fished another full day on 9/15 and put 151 smallmouth in the boat!  We fished a little more than half a day on 9/16 and put 130 smallmouth and 1 walleye in the boat!  This give us a 3 day total of 403 fish!

We were targeting points and offshore structure in various depths of water with finesse tactics and we absolutely slayed the fish!  With such a huge smallmouth population and not enough food, the majority of the fish are quite stunted.  We caught countless fish in the 1/2 lb range with several in the 1 - 2 lb range.  All of these fish are feeding up for fall and are super fat like footballs!  A lot of them were puking up baitfish (fry?) sculpins and craws.

I didn't record much fishing because I forgot to bring my battery charger for my spare batteries.  But I did record some footage of us feeding 2 Bald Eagles!  Mike has put in some time over the past 1.5 years or so training these eagles.  They're so smart that if we get within a couple coves of the cove where they live, they will come flying over and perch in the trees or on the rocks.  We fed them a few dink smallies and I got some footage of it!

Enjoy!

Here is a picture of a nice, chunky, super strong 1 lb 14 oz smallmouth that took me for a ride!  These river smallmouth are So Strong and put up a fight similar to that of a smallie twice their size!

2 Quick Bass Fishing Videos
I caught my first Bass using my Koppers Live Target Bluegill Wakebait!  It was a dink but it was still awesome to catch my first ever wakebait fish!

I also lost a nice bass that day!  When I set the hook, I couldn't pull my rod back any further and I thought I was snagged!  This fish had to be pushing 3 lbs and fought ultra hard!

Yellow Perch Spawning on Lake Washington!
Hey guys!  In case you haven't already caught them and noticed, the Yellow Perch are spawning on Lake Washington!  I caught a whole mess of them just off a public dock in kirkland on nightcrawlers!  I didn't get any that were really big but I did manage to catch over 40 of them.  I also caught 2 Peamouth Chub and 1 dink Smallmouth Bass!  I did it while using my pen rod so it was a ton of fun!

Post Spawn Smallmouth Bass Fishing
So I went out to fish a lake with my buddy Josh on saturday for some smallmouth bass.  The Smallmouth had already finished spawn and were in post spawn mode.  We mainly targeted docks and tried to find some of the transitional areas.  We fished mainly crankbaits and reaction baits along with various finesse presentations.  Didn't catch anything big but we caught a lot of fish.

I caught footage of most of the fish but not all.
Enjoy :)

Hand & Net Fishing in South Korea
I got to go to the very same stream in Korea that my dad grew up right next to.  We caught fish by hand and net.  It was pretty fun and was awesome spending time with family that I never met before.

3-24 Bass Fishing @ Bitter - Trout Fishing @ Green
We finally got our first day of "real" spring weather!  The peak temperature that I saw was 61 degrees while driving around in my truck.

I put my 7' Livingston into Bitter Lake today in hopes of catching my first largemouth bass of the year.  I started off circling the lake and pitching jigs to docks, lay downs, and any structure I could possibly pitch to along the shore line.  This yielded nothing so then I circled the lake again trying out different methods.  I was throwing a KVD 1.5 Silent Squarebill Crankbait, a Rapala X Rap Suspending Jerkbait, and a Drop Shot.  I got skunked but it was a beautiful warm day and I loved every minute of it.  I had to battle the wind the entire time and trying to work the shoreline without a bow mount, foot controlled trolling motor can be a huge pain in the butt!

In my attempt to salvage the day, I headed to Green Lake.  I submitted a report that you could should be able to see for details.  I managed to catch 2 small rainbow trout.  Nothing special but I was just happy to finally get the skunk off of my back and break in my Powell Diesel Glass Crankbait Rod!
