Roesiger lake is a fine multi-species lake located in Snohomish county. The lake holds planted rainbow trout, bass, crappie, perch, and bullhead. The unique feature of this lake is that it is actually three lakes in one. The south part of the lake is about 43 feet deep, the middle third of the lake is shallow (6 feet maximum), and the north part of the lake is 115 feet deep. What this means is that different parts of the lake turn on at different times of the year. As you would expect, the middle third of the lake, being shallow, warms up earlier and can offer good fishing in the winter/spring. The south third of the lake is next to turn on, and the north end of the lake last. Bass fishermen will droll with the various habitat, from shoreline brush to home-owners piers. The lake is well-developed but quiet. An 8 mile per hour speed limit is in effect on much of the lake, with skiing limited to specific areas.
Roesiger is a pretty lake. The shoreline, while developed, is quiet. To the north of the lake rises Pilchuck mountain, snow covered in the spring. The drive to the lake is north of Monroe, through rural farmland and woods. There is a nice county park on the lower third of the lake, east side. You can hand-launch boats from the park. Anglers should be aware of two important notes. First, the boat launch is small and has very limited parking. And the street parking is limited as well. And it's all quite narrow. So, although you can launch a large boat from the ramp, finding a place to park may prove more challenging. The second thing to watch out for is the narrow point going from the middle section to the north end. The water drops down to 2-3 feet deep. Stay between the posts and you'll be OK.
To reach the lake drive to Monroe. Go north on Wood Creek Road, turn right to the lake. Print out the map as it's easy to take on wrong turn on these country roads.
