got to lake about 7 am. nice calm day, water temp cold at 51-52. picked up a quick smallmouth and rainbow near boat launch in 20 feet of water and then just one more small rainbow and one crappie later that day. fish were surfacing occasionally all over lake even in 200 feet of water but couldn't get them to hit. tried the no gas motor zone by dam for the first time with no luck, hoping to find a few kokes. water was kind of cloudy and seems much higher than last year- be careful for logs and submerged trees of you are not familiar with this lake. I was trolling with wedding rings most of day. kind of disappointing but weather was finally reasonable and no one was on the lake. quick note- gate for public boat launch was locked but a guy at a bait store told me to go in through the exit road- they never lock that gate.
