Knowing the weather has been relatively warm, we set out to see if there was enough ice left to pick up a few more perch. The ice is holding up, but it won't be long if this weather continues. It was a beautiful day on the lake, albeit a little windy at times. We used the standard perch gear and picked up enough fish for a couple fish fry's. But we had to cover a lot of holes to do so. We might have caught 3 at most, out of any one particular hole. Time to change things up next trip, if the ice holds up. My friend's two young boys are real ice fishing troopers...nothing seems to faze them! Our third partner started out real early, arriving on the ice right at daylight, or even earlier. But the o-dark-thirty trick didn't seem to help very much. Not sure why the fish are so scattered. Just means we'll have to keep trying!

Scattered perch seems to be the norm, my last trip to Fish was unusual that I got my 25 out of one hole. Way to go!
