Went up to Eagle Cliff Bridge past Swift Reservoir early in the morning. Started with a pink and silver Blue Fox and caught two decent sized rainbows (10 in.). After a while that was working so well, so I put on a classic Panther Martin and caught another good sized rainbow. After that I tried a Wooly Bugger and caught two 17 inch rainbows on the downriver side of the bridge. Seven total that day. Good day and the area up there is really pretty.

Started trolling with basic trout gear, ford fenders and wedding rings tipped with pieces of worm. Hit a few trout and a couple of kokonee, but nothing big. Anchored inside the reservior area outside the buoy's at the mouth of the upper Lewis and started catching them like crazy. Bottom fishing with worms and salmon eggs. Ended up with a nice string of fish from 10" to 18". Good day overall, other than the wind blowing around 11:00am. Normal day to day activity up there.

Made an early start on Swift at 6am from the boat ramp. My first time to fish from a boat and my buddy has done so several times. Right off the bat from the launch we were into fish, as we started trolling with fast sinking lines, greater than type IV. I tied on a glass beaded black bugger and my buddy used his Swift special with cactus or crystal chenille for the body in a peacock color, black, marabou tail about the length of shank with some red marabou on top and shorter than the black on a 3x long, #6 hook. No hackle over the body, the actual name is "Swift-Schmidt Special". Say that 3 times as fast as you can, lol. Well, we couldn't keep the fish off these flies but the trout sizes were like cookie cutters, all in the 11 to 13 inch range. We easily hooked over 20 trout a piece. The bite slowed down after about 9:30 am. We called it quits about 1:30pm when the second round of big westerlys showed up.

Nice looking fish as if they were stock as fingerlings and grew in the lake because there were no signs of fin wear like the fresh hatchery stockings. We trolled from the launch to the opposite shoreline and headed west. I also tried casting and retreiving various streamers in some of the coves and at the river inlet but only managed two kokes. Most of the fish were on the thin side too. Would have rated the fishing a 5 if the trout were bigger, but beats getting skunked or staying home with yard work!

went to swift today, got a late start and got there around 10 and was in the water at 10:20 and the first fish on the bank 10min later, the fishing stayed pretty consistent throughout the day, the fish averaged 10-16in with a mixed bag a slimmers(trout) and kokanee, started off with a bobber and worm about 10-12ft down, caught a few fish,so i got bored and wanted to do a little experiment broke out one of my ice jigs and attached it to the bobber, It was all over but the crime. ended up catching at least a dozen or so that way before we called it a day, Performed C.P.R caught photographed and released, Talked to a few other anglers and seemed that most people were doing ok for the most part. I did see one guy with probably a 5lb trout on the way out, (Very nice fish), I cant wait for next weekend gonna take the boat out,

Ever have one of those days? Made it to the lake a lot later than I had planned, around 2:30 pm. Swift is definately dropping, I was told by some people in a RV that it had dropped 18 inches since the previous day! Started to back my boat in and accidentally rubbed my front fender of my Toy 4Runner on the dock side, ouch! Then, I got my boat into the water with some help from the people in the RV and started to motor off when I realized the stern was riding kinda low. Oh no! I forgot to put the plug in! :-( Back to the dock, I pulled the boat back out and turned on the bilge pump. Twenty minutes later I'm finally heading out on the water. Was told by several people in boats that the fishing was really good, and even though it was getting late in the day I decided to head towards the dam and find my favorite spot. Began trolling and instantly caught a salmon (not sure exactly what kind) about 12 inches. Trolling along with my downrigger about 40 feet in about 130 feet of water I wasn't paying close enough attention when suddenly I was in like 35 feet of water! The pancake weight got caught in something on the bottom and a few minutes later I was looking at the snarled end of my broken downrigger cable! Auggghhhh!! What else I'm thinking? Well fortunately the fish were actually close to the surface and I began trolling with my gear just under the surface. In all I landed about 7 (released 2) of these (landlocked silvers?) and kept enough for the frying pan. Very tasty! But it didn't exactly make up for the bucks I have to spend now to replace/repair everything. Oh well, at least my boat isn't sitting on the bottom of the lake!

Tight lines, and if you plan to go there go this week! The lake will probably be too low to launch after that.

Sorry, no pics this time, my camera would have probably been dropped overboard anyways! :-(

Wow what a great day to be on the lake. The water has dropped almost past the dock making launching a bit harder. The fishing was awsome. Most of the fish were in the 10-12 inch range with a couple close to 16. A fella at the launch was saying he has seen a few 4-6 pounders caught. Hope to get on the lake a few more times before the close at the end of November.

Got on the lake a little after noon, had our first fish on a few minutes later. Had our best luck between the dam and swift creek. Water levels are still high enough to allow for great fishing. Good fishing.........

Trolled at about 20-40 feet and caught fish all day long. A flasher with a wedding ring tipped with
a night crawler worked great, also used a flasher with a black and/or brown wooley booger fly
also worked wonders.
