Went out and cast a few times at Lake Clark but after a hour of no bites we decided to leave. Got to Lake Morton and started fishing at about 6:30 am from shore. We fished around for a while and we didn't have a bite until a guy showed up and told us what we were doing wrong. After about 10 minutes with the new set up we started catching them one after another until we had limited . We decided to release the smaller ones but the fishing was fantastic!

Went out about 09:30 and by 12:00 had my limit. This is 3 days in a row at Lake Morton for me and 3 limits. They are all plants 10" to 12" range but fun none the less. I trolled a silver and yellow wedding ring with night crawlers. Also used Potskie's eggs and Gulp fake worms and Gulp hot pink maggots, all of them worked on the wedding rings. No luck on pop gear. Slow troll, #1 on the 40lb thrust electric was fast enough.

Fished Morton for the first time. Tried my hand at some bass fishing but gave up after a couple hours. Switched to a pink power egg and worm off the bottom and landed this nice "15 rainbow. Only a few other people were out fishing but didn't seem to be having any luck.

First time fishing lake Morton, hit the water about 7am.
Went with father in law, on his new boat.
I started out fishing with worm on bottom. He used power bait and butt juice(no joke). Not actual butt juice, lol. Scented bait attractor for fish.

Anyway, took about an hour before he hooked a rainbow. Then I followed with a small bass, spot the hook at boat though.

Moved to deeper water and bingo, that was the key. About 18-19' deep.
I switched over to green, marshmallow and worm, with a touch of the pro cure butt juice.

Father in law, same bait. As the day went on, the bite picked up.

We boated about 12 fish. Fun day.

I will give Morton a try again in future.

Would have rated a 4, but no really big fish.

Got on the water about 7:30am, not much wind so I made my way out to the middle and just let the boat drift. Casted out some pink powerbait about 2 feet off the bottom. They hit light but as soon as I felt the bump I'd set the hook. C&R 2 nice 14" trout and a third spit the hook as I was reaching to release him. Fun morning fishing, spent about two hours on the water then had to go to work.

Threw some neon green power bait on the west side of the lake, about 18" up from the bottom, slow but steady, took my limit.

Got to the lake about 10am or so, cloudy and sprinkling rain. Threw some pink Power Bait with sparkles, got one trout in the boat, not a bite after that. Switched up to a Blue Fox in neon greens, hooked up one small bass. Spit the hook at the boat. Seemed to die off after that. May try the lake again earlier in the day.

It was a nice sunny day on the lake with very little breeze if any. My girlfriend and I got on the lake around 10:00. We both used a flasher and worm. As usual it took a few minutes to get dialed in. The fish seemed to be a bit deeper (45 pulls). We got just a couple in the north end of the lake. Finally found the fish on the southwest side of the lake where it starts narrowing. Twice Linda and I landed fish at the same time. The bad thing about the area was it was 2 doors down from a woman that was screaming and bitchin' about something.Jeez! Left with 9 fish in 2 1/2 hours.

My girlfriend and I had to come back to the harder fighting fish in this lake after fishing Spring Lake yesterday. We hit the lake at around 9:00 and whithin 5 minutes she already had a nice fish in the boat. I was using my favorite flatfish and after 3 hours she had me beat on fish 4 to 2. I was just getting ready to switch to her set-up when she hooked in to the biggest trout she's ever caught. It ended up weighing 2.4lbs. and was a little over 17". Sure made her day. She was perfectly content on sitting back and enjoying the day while I fished. I caught one more then the wind kicked up and it started raining so we left. We were surprised to find these 4 things inside her big fish. They are plastic and all of them were melted on one end. The tips of fireworks? Whatever they are this fish really liked them.
