Well went out today to Srping. Ended up not catching a thing but watched my graph carefully and found about a 10 foot drop off that puts you in about 18 feet of water and slightly up from the drop off there is a 3-5 foot flat. i'd put money that the Largies are sitting right below that flat feeding on the perch and pumpkinseed that are abundant in the area. if they aren't now, i know they will be when the water warms up another 10 degrees and the lillies come out.

Next time I'll be throwin' a dropshot right at that transition to deep water. Should produce a fish or two!

Anyways here's the crazy story. My dad hooked up on a PIG in 3 feet of water with the water temp at 46 degrees. Not only that, he caught it on an ultralight rod, #6 eagle claw trout hook and orange powerbait. Basically a bottom rig for trout! He thought he had hooked the bottem and then noticed his line was coming towards him. I couldn't belive my eyes, good times all around.

This is without a doubt one of my 3 favorite lakes in my area. Its has some giants in it, hooked into two of them last year. Can't wait for spring!!!

Hit the lake right about 5:20am. Got a few strikes and brought in a little guy bout 8"in. Right away. I continued to work theddocks, pads and shoreline and brought 2 more in the boat, both measured right at 13" on the Berkeley tape. Will be getting a scale soon so I can post weight as well... I was off the water at 8:30am all in all was a good morning...

Got on to the lake bout 9:00am. Caught one 11" right at the boat launch and worked the docks and weeds to the left throwing my go to bait of the zoom company. No senkos here as they have never really done me good..lol. But tried and true they are... Caught 2 more both at 14-15 inches and my big one of the season measured I. At just over 19" on the Berkeley tape :) lost my scale so I couldn't weight it :( Great day here as the Bass were strikin today...

Took a buddy over to Spring lake to troll some flies around. Got out first hit on a Black Bugger not 1 minute from the boat launch. Just a little bow so we tossed it back. Spent about 3 hours on the lake. He hasn't caught a fish in 5 years living in Washington so my buddy had the time of his life. He ended up with 3 12" keepers and tossed back a few littler ones. I got 1 12" and 1 17" Triploid. I got a ton of hits but the fish seemed a bit more picky this day. It was pretty sunny and the action didn't really pick up until the sun went behind the trees. About 20:00 they started taking off the top all over the lake. I really prefer Spring to Desire, much few folks on shore and on the water.

Took my boys out fly fishing for the first time. Went out on a nice cool cloudy day and pulled some black buggers around the lake. What an amazing day. They both had 5- 12"+ 'bows on board in less than 2 hours!! They each had 1 on board in the 1st 15 minutes. Talk about making memories! They had a few shake loose for long releases but we had something going on every few minutes the whole day. We had hit Lake Desire a few times earlier this summer and limited out, but Spring Lake was a much more enjoyable experience. There is a lot less activity on the shore, than there is on Desire. Plus no jealous dock heads all drunked up and cussing at the boaters.

My girlfriends grandson wanted to go fishing with us so we hit up Spring Lake. We haven't been here for a month and haven't had much luck on other lakes when it's sunny and warm so I was worried the same would happen at this lake but soon after we got on the lake and started trolling Anthony started getting bites. He was able to get every other fish in the boat. It took us 3 hours to get 9, then close to another hour to get the last one.

I arrived around 9 AM and tied a spinner on to start. On my fourth cast, I hooked a nice one and reeled it in. I forgot to measure, but it was a good size. Within the next 15 minutes, two more were brought in, both decent size. The rain started to come down heavier and the action slowed. The fish in the picture was caught about 30 minutes later on a spoon. Overall, for only being there a little over an hour and catching four fish, this was a solid day.

Also, I personally found it much easier to catch trout here than in Lake Desire.

My girlfriend and I tried out this lake for the first time this morning. A friend had fished here last Saturday and limited in 2 hours. I had on my flatfish from the last time we fished so I just went with that. My girlfriend used a flasher with a worm. They both did about the same. We fished from 10:00 to noon with a steady amount of hits. This 17 incher was my 4th fish. The part of the flatfish that you tie your line to came off in the net. Put a swivel back on in it's place and it worked fine. All and all a nice day and the fishing doesn't get much better then this.

We were on the water around 6:30 am. Had the lake to ourselves. hooked 3 or 4 LM dinks right away. Then the bite just stopped. We fished till noon and got nothing. Not sure what was the problem. Will try again another day
