Fished Larson tonight with kwcc, fishing wasn't very good. Caugh this bass on a wakebait by the dock. Only bout a pound. He blew up on it. A fair amount of pull downs on crappie jigs, no hook ups though.

I was there from 6pm to 8pm, and I think I saw two risers, period. No strikes, I've tried live worm, senko, power bait crappie bait, bread, corn. Weighted Texas rig and bobbers. Not even a single fry was spotted nearshore when I throw a bit of bait in the water. Eventually a turtle came and ate the bread and corn. Sigh, wonder if the lake is dead.

Arrived at 8am. Day is sunny but too windy, cating my plastic worm became a challenge. Stayed there for one hour and got no baits. Will try this lake next weekend if weather condition is better.

I've fished Larson several mornings with zero success so I decided to take a shot at it during the evening. I arrived around 4:30pm and was surprised to find three fisherman on the dock with a stack of Crappie. I'd say they had at least a couple dozen fish that they were cleaning when I arrived and they pulled in at least 40 total that I saw during my trip. Knowing that this lake is so small, I was a bit disappointed to see so many fish (especially small ones) being removed from the system. I also never expected to be combat fishing at Larson! That said, I joined the masses and threw my bobber and jig out into the lake. The fish were hovering about 50 feet out. I was obviously the newbie to Crappie fishing and only managed to hook 3 (and landed 1) while the other guys got many more (albeit with better position on the school). After awhile I moved down the waterfront a little bit and landed another one.

Just a little bit of info on the lake conditions in case anyone is interested. The lilly pads are dying out now and the fish seem to have mover out towards the deeper part of the lake. They were essentially at the outer limit of casting distance from shore. I'm not sure of Crappie behavior, but if they move out any further I'd say they'll be uncatchable without a boat/tube.

This was the first time I've ever caught a Crappie and I really enjoyed the experience. Hopefully this lake will not be exploited and will continue to produce fish for many years to come.

I already posted this report but apparently there were some technical difficulties so it didn't show up. So here it is Went out to Larson by myself yesterday (didn't have time to call anyone up and my dad was watching football)So I had my mom drop me off for a few hours. When I got there I tried everything in my tacklebox. Really. Lipless cranks, shallow cranks, spinner baits, weedless frogs, jerkbaits, swimbaits, and topwaters. Few hits but nothing other than that. I talked to some guys on the dock, one was catching pumkimseed sunfish for dinner (he had a few in his bucket), and the other was fishing for crappie. Believe it or not 1 of the guys caught a turtle, so I netted it for him. I used my pliers, took the turtle of the hook, and back he went. It was time for me to go so I said goodbye and started walking out. But, on the way out I saw a perfect place to throw a weedless senko in a pocket in the lilly pads so I take my last lucky 3 casts and what do you know it, on my 3rd cast I see my line quickly jump so I set the hook. Right off the bat I know It's a good fish. He almost broke of 3 times thanks to the lilly pads but lukily he didn't. I landed him, took a few pics and ran all the way back to the dock give the bass to the guy keeping fish for dinner so he can have a nice meal and left. The reason this report was a 5 is because it was very peaceful on the lake, I got to talk to some nice fellow fisherman, and I did land 1 nice LM bass in the 3-4 pound range. No doubt I'll be back with kwcc next weekend!!!

My dad was watching football today (usually I'm interested it's just the Colts are terrible this year) so my mom dropped me off at Larson for 2 hours today. I started off throwing everything I had. Lipless crankbaits, buzzbaits, weedless frogs, spinner baits, topwaters, and shad raps. Nothing. Went and fished of the dock and talked to a couple guys. 1 was crappie fishing, the other was keeping fish. The guy who was keeping was catching pumkimseed sunfish. You could tell he wanted some fish to eat. I thought to myself I gotta catch this guy a bass. The guy hooks up with something big and it's pulling out drag so I offer to net it for him. When he got it to the dock it was a turtle! I net him and take the hook out and we throw him back. I'm walking out to leave and I saw a perfect place to throw a weedless rigged senko so I do. I take my last lucky 3 casts. On the 3rd cast I see my line go from slack to tight as the senko sinks so I set the hook on a big fish. He wraps me around the lilly pads 3 times but the fish stays on and the lilly pads break. The fight was still on. I net him, take some quick pics, and run all the way back across the lake to give him to the guy whos keeping fish. I estimate the bass was 3-4 pounds. The 2 guys looked at it and you could tell they were amazed so I gave it to them, wished them a happy dinner, said bye, and left. The only reason this report is a 5 is because the size of the 1 nice bass I did catch. I'll definatly be back next weekend.

After football practice tonight, I headed to Larson with kwcc. Haven't been out fishing to much lately with football, school, studying, and homework. So I was very happy to get out for a change. My mom dropped us off at 6:30PM. I Started fishing wakebaits and propbaits along the sides of the lilly pads. I picked up 1 dink LM. And missed another fish. Saw some of the stocker trout that are in there jumping and I switched to crappie fishing. Kwcc was getting alot of pull downs but no hook ups. I caught 2 crappie (7-8inches) and lost one about 11 inches. Switched back to topwater with no more sucess. Guess it just wasn't the day I was meant to catch a big bass. However my friends B-day is tomorrow so me, him, and possibly kwcc are gonna head out to my private boat dock on LW to try and catch a few lunker LM. If you saw my last boat dock report you saw the pics of those big LM's I caught there last time so we will see how that goes.

I had some time this morning before work so I decided to try Larson again. Arrived around 7am and began fishing from the dock with various Bass lures in hopes of landing on of the rumored lunkers. No luck so I switched to the white crappie grub under a bobber that has been mentioned as being effective there before, but not bites either. Eventually tried some live worms under a bobber in hopes of getting something, but never got any pick ups on that either.

I guess morning is just not the right time for this lake, at least not in this weather.

After reading about this lake here I decided to give it a crack this morning in hopes of landing some Crappie or perhaps even some of the bas I've heard about. My intention was to get there early, but long story short I didn't arrive until about 9am. Fished around the dock for over an hour with no strikes. I tried a small Crappie jig below a bobber in the pads mostly, but also switched between just about every bass bait your could imagine. Explored around lake quite a bit and noticed that there were probably half a dozen spots that were reachable if you had some rubber boots or didn't mind getting your feet wet. I will have to come back in the evening soon.

There was a couple there when I arrived and they didn't get any strikes either, but did get one follow from a decent sized bass.

I did see a pair of Osprey's diving for fish and the blackberries are ripening so the day was not a complete loss :)

Went fishing on Larsen with the wife today. Had fun showed up around 7:30 am tried everything. topwater, jigging worms off the bottom, crank bait, jigging grubs for crappie. The only fish was caught off a rattle trap and I was just about to pull the lure out of the water and it came up from under the dock and hit it. Little dink. That was all we caught. Left around 10 am. This was the first fish for me caught in the state of Washington. Hope for many more and bigger too.
