Started day off at 7:30 little late for me. Wind was not bad as I thought it might be.My fishing partner was home sick so I thought I would try for some browns in a spot we caught them on Friday. There where allot of fishermen out with the same Idea so I had to be patient. The 10 to 12 in rainbows where biting one after the other. I hooked a few small browns not big enough to keep. I was only going to stay out till 12-1pm or so. I looked at watch and it was 1150am so I decided I would make one more loop then head in. Glad I did my 7 foot rod got a hit. When I grabbed pole it stayed Wow I got a nice onand did. 22 inches and 5 lbs or so I would say. Love this lake catch 10-12 inch fish all day and a five pounded on the line.

Took Mom and Dad out for Mothers Day fishing in the morning. We were on the lake about 7:15am and tried trolling same thing as day before and did not have success. Changed up to different color wedding rings with green doing the best and half orange and half green as well. Double whammy's after we starting hooking and missing them. After using the double whammy's we started landing them. Great day as Mom landed 4 and Dad landed 3. Got pretty windy around 11am so we headed home.

Still fished all night using eyed jig heads, worms and a green fluorescent fish light. The rainbows were practicably jumping in the boat. We jigged 4" off bottom and boated three 15" brownies ....all the rest were small bows. All it takes out at Clear right now is a pulse and a pole!

I took my son and daughter out for the first time this year and we had a blast. We were trolling different color wedding rings and double whammies. Found the pink color worked best with green power bait. My 9 year old daughter caught the first three fish of the day and that gave us a good idea of what they were biting on and depths as we were all using something different. Changes my sons rigging over and he had success and landed 4. My daughter caught one more and Dad even managed to catch a couple in between helping them land fish and rig their poles. Great weather and got a little sun. I was disappointed in trying to find some clear water without all the moss and junk floating in the water but had a great day.

Braeden (my son), his friend Jay, Jemma (my new canine fishin buddy) and I hit the lake about 4pm. We had our first limit of this years stocked trout by 4:45, and the rest of our 2 limits in the boat by 7pm. We trolled the northeast cliff area using Apex lures with worms at about 1.5-2.2mph and 20'-35' depths. This was Jemma's 2nd trip on the boat, but her first trip after having found her coordination (she's only 4 months old). She didn't quite know what to make of the lake... as if to step off the boat "onto" the water she would kind of wave her paw at the water... but didn't have the guts to take the first step. Kinda wish she would have. My son was worried that she would fall in. Like that would be a bad thing. It would be the last time we'd have to worry about it :)
Anyways, the fishing was great as always and the weather was the best so far this year. The boys were restless and it was getting late so the photo op with the fish was missed, but I took a photo of the in the sink anyway. As well, we got a mess of fillets I'm fixin to smoke!

My buddy Jim and I got on the lake a little before 7am. For a half hour we were the only one and a beautiful lake, sun shinning and fish biting. Landed the first fish after losing 2 or 3 good strikes in about 20 minutes on the lake. We ended the day just before noon, two limits, lots of hits and a lot of fun. Just a great day on the lake, temp of the water was 49 to 53, fished at 25 feet depth. good fishing , great friend , beautiful day, what else can a guy ask for, oh ya NO WORK.

Got to the launch at around 8:00 AM and three of us had our limits in an hour. 14 cookie cutters and one jumbo. Just so happened the jumbo was the last one caught. We started a slow troll from the WDFW launch and had 8 fish before getting to the other end of the lake. Love it when you can catch, dry brine and fill a smoker in one day.

Couldn't resist hitting Clear Lake one more time while it was open. Headed to the lake with my son after work and went straight to the northeast cliffs area. Trolled 3 polls tonight. 25' Downrigger with a watermelon Apex. Nothing on that one all night. Kokanee flashers with a chrome/red wedding ring w/chrome spinner and a 1/2oz weight. Nothing on that one either. The 3rd rig was a Kokanee flasher, chrome/orange wedding ring with a florescent orange spinner and a 1/2 oz weight above the flashers. Caught all 4 on that rod with 5 or 6 missed hits. I couldn't find anything else in my tackle box like it it. It was raining the entire time and we left after it was too dark to see the rods anymore. Now I have enough trout fillets to fill the smoker again. Good times!

Got on the water about 7:30 and headed north. Started trolling the northwest side with no results. Changed the downrigger to an Apex Rainbow with worm and the other pole with a green/orange wedding ring and rounded the north end of the lake and came up the northeast shore along the cliffs. That's where the action was all morning. Around 8:45 I picked up the first brown (14"). Looped around and trolled that northeast cliff area for another hour and finished off my limit. Total for the day was 3 Rainbows (13", 14" 16") and 2 Browns (14", 15"). Was done fishing by 9:45 and headed home by 10:30.
Downrigger depth was 25' all morning. Other trolling rod used a 1 oz weight in front of a kokanee flasher setup with a trailing green/orange wedding ring with a silver blade that had a red sticker on it. I have no idea what depth it was at but I let out quite a bit of line.
Thanks DaveF for the recent reports that prompted me to come here today instead of Deer!
