Lake Ki was hot on Saturday. Everything was in the 10" range, but some of them were pretty fat.
C&R'd everything. All were solid lip hooks. None of them got ballsy and decided to gut the hooks, which is always nice.
Started off with trolling. I had some light pop gear with a wedding ring. Smaller night crawlers on the hook. My buddy was pulling a fly most of the time, though he did catch a few on a green/silver ~1.5" spoon. Everything we tried was equally as effective. The east shore seemed to have the most activity.
Oranger powerbait seems to work real good. Anchored up a ways out from the boat launch when our battery got low, and pulled a few more in.
Didn't snap any picture of the fish. You all know what a 10" RB looks like haha.

After my failure at Martha Lake decided to try my "go to" lake. This time I had my worms, but it did not seem to matter. Had lots of strikes but nothing stuck. Got one perch to the boat but got off. Fished from 8-11am. Most hits were on the pop gear and had a couple more on wedding rings tipped with worms. Also got a couple strikes on a flatfish.

Headed out to Lake Ki for an afternoon of fishing. Landed my first fish of the year on a black Wooly Booger in the first 20 minutes. Put him on the stringer and continued on my way. About 10 minutes later I look down and my stringer was empty. Somehow this fish pulled a Houdini and got away to fight another day. Paddled to the far side of the lake and anchored on one of my go to spots. Picked up a nice 12"er right away. The next 1/2 hour was dead so I paddled back to the highway and anchored in my other go to spot and limited out in about an hour. Nothing big, but a nice, Lake Ki, limit. The weather was nice, though a bit windy, which made paddling solo tricky at first but once I was able to get into a rhythm, all was good.

Got to the lake around 9:00am. It was a later start but my buddy got off work at 7:00am, and 45 min drive there. We tried bait for a while like last trip, and got some hits, but no hook ups. While he stayed with bait, I switched over to a silver and green spoon and began casting. After about 15 minutes when I planned to switch to something different a violent jerk bent my 9foot stealhead pole tip all the way to the water! I lost the fish at the boat, and it was only about 13in, but man did it fight. The next 3 casts got a hook up every time. I managed to boat 2. After that we switched up and began trolling. The fish hit on a wedding ring, flat fish, and the spoon. After a couple hours with many more stirkes, and violent first hits we had our limits. All fish were about 12-13 inch, but the way the hit sure made it seem larger. The first strike would be hard, followed by some air time, an easy real to the boat, and with loose drags some line peeling once they realized what was going on. Another awesome day at lake Ki.

Two friends and I launched the boat around 7:15 this morning. we trolled around the lake using a flatfish and various colored wedding rings for about one hour. We noticed on guy catching fish like crazy, and after talking to him switched tactics. He was in a pontoon boat casting and slowly rowing with a hook and power eggs. Within an hour of switching over to power bait we had our limits. All fish were about 12-13 inches. I did loose one larger one at least 20 inches after it took a run under the boat, and wrapped around the anchor.

After a month of salmon on the Stilly, I needed to sit and relax. Also, my 6 yo has been asking to go out, so I pulled some worms and we headed to Ki. Anchored up in about 22' of water in the North East corner of the lake, we had great bites, nothing huge, but loads of fun. We probably would have caught bigger ones if we were deeper, but it was more an exercise in fun. I may try to get her out again later this week, if the weather holds.

After a great weekend of weather I was finally able to get away for a few hours so I headed to Lake Ki to give the evening bite a try. There were a few boats on the water when I arrived at 7pm and the sun was still out with a slight breeze at times. Water temp was 66.2 degrees F. My fish finder marked large schools of fish in between 30 and 50 feet of water at the north end of the lake. I trolled a few flies using a floating line with a sink tip and after about 30 minutes without a bump, I switched to a small chrome flasher and a wedding ring tipped with chartreuse power bait and started getting bites. I missed several bites and managed one nice trout to the boat before it spit the hook. The fishing wasn’t great but it was sure nice to be out on the water for a few hours of relaxation.

Got fairly calm when I returned from Goodwin so I decided to go sit on the dock for a bit tonight. Had a couple light taps, but no takers. Fish are still jumping all over this lake! These are the nice pan fryers too, not the fightless triploids, oh well, I have time...May have to launch the boat next week?.

Fished from 12:30 to 5:00 Landed 4 fish had 30+ bites. These fish are so little they just kept steeling my bait. Caught all 3 sizes of trout plant: 8",9",10". They only planted 1,000 lbs of the 10" fish, and I caught 2 of those, guess I should consider myself luck. I dont think I will be back until October, when the fish get bigger. Nice day watching the birds eating all the fish.
The fish are all over the lake, no hot spots.

This report is for various days from 10-11 through 10-18... I have been dabbling on this lake off and on 4-5 times over the past week, I have not been able to find a bite? I have tried the rainbow of colors Powerbait has to offer and various spinners and various times of day, nothing.
I believe I was fortunate enough to run into a school earlier in the month and that school has moved off. I would guess they have headed north towards the launch side of the lake in search for warmer water, but??
I haven't even seen fish rising in the evenings, and there seems to be alot of bugs on the water...oh well.
