Only had an hour to fish for large mouth and I only fished the East side of the lake. Wx was great for top water w/a wind coming from North to South to disturb the surface and sporadic cloud cover. Landed two fish, one 3 and one 2 pounder. Strike zone was extremely small. Maybe under 12 inches. Used a Zepher Super Spook w/feather tail, blood red hooks and a fat rattle crank bait I bounced off structure. Both in the green colors on12lb Berkley XL. Fun night, wish I had more time. I don't think it would have been as productive in full sunlight.

Well went out to Tarboo for a little camping trip from the 13-15th with my friend kevin and my little brother zack. We ended up getting 6 bass off of jointed rapalas and spinner baits with the biggest fish being about 11inches. We also caught 8 Rainbow trout throughout the weekend with the biggest being 12 inches. All but one trout was caught on orange power bait on the far side of the lake in about 20 feet of water with between a 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 foot leaders. The other was caught on a silver flat fish in the same area.

Fished Tarboo lake starting at 930 AM. Caught about 10 small bass on yamamoto 4 inch grubs. Lost one good size fish. That's fishing. This lake seems to have mostly small bass, although the trout grow well here.

Hit tarboo at about 6am there was one person fishing from the shore that wasn't to sure about launching his canoe because of the wind. I started trolling and right off the got a little stocky the smallest one i caught out of this lake again bam another little stocky. Well i trolled down to the end of the lake and on my way back to the boat launch i had to turn my trolling motor to warp speed just going the wind was blowing so bad. But it was fast enough to catch two more stockys and a 16 incher yumm, lunch. I got back in time just as my battery died thank god for that. It was nice to limit out in a hour but the wind was chilly.. ill be back on this lake soon

Hit Tarboo this morning at about 6am. There were only 2 other boats on the lake. I started trolling with a foxtail, no luck, switched to a wedding ring, nothing, switched to rapala lure, nothing. Everyone else on the lake was catching fish left and right so after an hour and a half of not catching anything I over heard another fisherman tell his secret. A tried and true method, but a secret none the less for this lake, so I tried it out and bam, I couldn't keep the fish off. All in all I caught my limit in a hour. Mostly planters, but kept a 17 in lunker and oversized hold over. It was overcast and the wind was blowing a little. It was a satisfying trip and i'm glad I went. I think i'll go tomorrow too. tight lines

The fishing was very slow, except for the nice 18", 2lb rainbow that i caught. I caught it on some red powerbait. This one sort of made up for last weeks disappointment, when I lost a rainbow that was all the way up to my float tube, I didn't have a net and i tried grabbing it, it ended up snapping my line as i was holding it, it slipped out of my hand and got away, this rainbow was at least 21", 5lb. Well it sorta makes up for it, will hit the lake up again this week. Very nice lake, quiet, KEEP YOUR BOATS OFF THE LAKE IF YOU HAVE A LARGER MOTOR! NOTHING MORE THAN A TROLLING MOTOR!

I rate any lake a 5 on opening day!
I fished Tarboo on opening day and got a limit this year, but most fisherman did not.It is a lake that fishes well if you know the lake really good.Verry tough if you do not.106 were caught by 86 fisherman.
