I hit the Green River enthused this morning - weather was supposed to be decent and not that much rain over the past couple of days. I was set up for chum fishing, but could switch to coho if needed. I tried my purple/black jig with a piece of shrimp on a bobber for 2-3 hours and didn't get anything. Saw fish rolling right by my bait, which made it even more maddening. I didn't see anybody catch this morning at all.

Came home and read the WA Lakes reports on how good the lakes were. I took out my trout pole and restrung the line, dug up some worms and headed to Green Lake. Got there just before sunset. Tried my worm for about 15 min w/no takers, then switched to a small home-made jig and caught a nice 9" rainbow just before it was too dark to see. I'm bringing both poles tomorrow. If the Snohomish river is dead for coho, I'll hit Tye lake like Huli did! :)

Tried the Green River by the Auburn golf course this morning. Water was high and running fast so I started w/Dick Nite's until I lost one. Switched to corkies/yarn... nada. Bottom drifted eggs by the tree (could see them rolling) - Nada. Then it really got frustrating when they started jumping - quite a few of them along the opposite bank and then right in front of me. I tried jigs, curly tail grubs, eggs, lures, spoons, spinners, yarn, beads, corkies, cheaters... Geez, ran out of ideas!

I actually think half of the ones I saw jumping (especially the ones up close) were chum. I've restocked my tackle box with purple/black jigs and will hit it again in the morning targeting a different species.

Chums are in! Fished near 405, didn't start at the optimum time but fish were surfacing periodically throughout the few hours I spent fishing. Water was running high but it started to heat up as the day went on. Ended up hooking 3 and landed one. Gave me an awesome fight and weighed upwards of 10 pounds. Decided to call it after the third fished snapped off my whole rig. Looking to be a pretty good Chum season on the Green!!

I hit up the golf course hole this morning and the water was running high and fast, thought maybe fish would be shooting up stream from all the rain recently. My assumption was wrong though I got one decent bite and missed it a couple other anglers had the same thing but no luck...fish must just not be up stream yet, really need to catch my first silver of the year though.

Went out to the Green in Kent to see that the river was high and fast. Didn't have much hope of catching. Drifted eggs for a bit, but as I said too high and fast. So switched to corky and yarn. As soon as I did I hooked into this brute! Isn't it a bit early for these guys this far upstream? I was after coho, but may have been happier to land this guy. If the coho run's over I'm totally okay as long as there are chum in the river. This beast was damn fun to fight in the strong current!

Fished for a couple of hours near BECU, nothing, not even saw a fish jumps. Only a couple other anglers in the area. Casted spinners and twitched jigs. Is the Coho season over?

Fished the Auburn area for about 2 hours after traveling south to north looking for fish. Saw some jumpers north of golf course and fished there. A few bites but no hookups. Talked to one guy who had caught one earlier and to many others that had not had any luck.

Hit the river at just before first light in Auburn by the golf course. I caught this one on a Blue Fox spinner. Had it on a 3 ft leader and an egg weight to get it toward the bottom. This one was hooked on my 3rd cast. I moved around to some different holes and called it quits at 10:30ish The morning bite is wear its at. Didn't see or hear of anyone else catching a thing

Green River east of 405 opened today so I thought I'd get an early jump on it. Saw several cars parked along Auburn Way by the golf course. Got to my hole - tried everything: Roe, Dick Nite, Corky/Yarn, Jigs. Nada. Saw 2 fish jump and that was it. Headed downstream and tried the Duwamish in Tukwila...again no bites. Very quiet on the river.

I think there was just too much water from the rain. Hoping to get a coho before season is over!
