I started above Whitney Bridge and ended up across from the slide hole....First cast after arriving my bobber diapered with a nice bright metal head on my pink worm and shrimp jig .He finally broke free with my pink worm stuck in his mouth and after 4 or 5 Arial leaps with the worm still in it mouth it diapered into the deep....It was fun but wished I could of landed it or at least played it a little longer .

Well, I finally popped my cherry. After more trips than I'd like to admit to, I finally landed a steelhead. I've been fishing the S rivers pretty damn hard this season with only a (very) few steelhead briefly on, and always very briefly. Bad hooksets, too much slack, you name it, i've done it.

Hit the Green from around 9-3pm today. Around 2pm I hooked into this beast, what I believe to be a native. [For those more experienced and knowledgeable - That's a native, right? Adipose fin looks in tact] Was using a sidewinder sideplaner with a little kwikfish or wordens flatfish, not sure which, it is. Had the rod in my hand, working the gear slowly down the banks, when something yanked really, really hard. The planer releases. I set the hook.......and there's no budge. I start putting more pressure on it, when it took off like a lightening bolt and made its first (of many) jumps. My damn heart stopped. Anyways.....long story short, I got it in, removed the hook, and let it go on its away.

This was the only strike of the day, sans one baby rainbow caught drifting beads. Tried numerous other techniques before I pulled out the new toy, the sideplaner, for which Dadamonkey has given me and mizm05 infinite grief. Fortunately, I'll gladly accept more grief if this is what it can get me. I think mizm05 will, too.

The river was very high and fast, Metzler park flooded and no access, went up to Whitney bridge and fished the banks and eddy's. Saw one fish jump no bites.

Floated the Green on New Year's Day from Whitney bridge to why 18 for steelhead with no luck. There were plenty of other boats out as well, as many as I've ever seen on the Green. Water was high and crystal clear. No one I talk to caught any steelhead. I did manage one rainbow and a cutthroat.

*There is a new log jam that blocks the entire river down past Metlzer a ways. Had to drag my pontoon boat up on the shore to get around it.

Hit a half dozen spots on the Green River this morning ending at the hwy 18 bridge. -Nothing- Stopped by the Soos creek Hatchery to stand on the footbridge there and squint at the water, nothing moving but ducks. i saw about 8 or 10 expired fish strewn about on the stream bed. I don't know is this run of steel just way low? is it still early? Summer and fall fishing was hot but so far this winter..not so good. Is it just me?

Had a Sunday off, which is extremely rare for me. So my husband and I decided to take a fishing trip that wouldnt cost a lot in gas, and skipped the hump and stayed local. We decided to fish the green and went to metzler park for the first time. Water looked beautiful. We got there around 1pm. There were a few people fishing and no fish caught. I got extremely lucky and managed to entice a strike out of a little hatchery buck within the first few casts. Used a very small light shrimp pink jig tipped with a little shrimp. Fished til dark with only one more bobber down that I completely missed.

Fished at a few spots from metzler up to flaming geyser. I mostly went to test out some new gear. The water was a little high but good visibility. I mainly fished jigs and some spawn sacks as well. Got a brief bobber down on the spawn sack but it didn't stick... Other than that no signs of fish. I expected there to be a few chum but did not see anything. Oh well, weather was good and I only saw one other fisherman. Next up is snoqualmie, a few more anglers but hopefully more fish.

Fished at metzler for a couple hours. Floated a jig in hopes of some chum and/or steel. A few fish were coming through but no bites. The water was fairly low and highly stained, not much for visibility.
