Rufus Woods 2009
Yes, "There Will Be Blood". Join Aaron, Andrew, and myself as we enjoy the quality fishery that is Rufus Woods. Our stay at Cabin By The River was excellent! Everything you could ask for in a secluded location - beautiful scenery, good boat launch, quick run to the pens - and most important a cabin which was clean and comfortable, with everything a group of anglers or hunters could ask for. I know I'll be back! Check them out at www.CabinAtTheRiver.com.

Wooten Lake in Mason County
Rooten-Tooten Wooten as it's known affectionately by insiders, is a pleasant 69 acre lake that will yield planted trout (rainbow and cutthroat) and largemouth bass. It has a nice view of the Olympic Mountain range. The lake is developed and has a good WDFW ramp with good parking. Video Summer 08, with thanks to Bob Johansen for his help.

McMurray in Skagit County
McMurray is a nice trout and spiny ray lake. It's one of the busier Opening Day lakes around, with limited parking. The launch area is rough and shallow so be sure to bring hip waders!

Big Lake in Skagit County
Big Lake is one of my more favorite lakes to visit, despite the fact that I have not personally had much luck there. But there are some big bass in this lake and a ton of nice habitat. The lake has a very good reputation for crappie, also. The launch is rough and sandy in spots so bigger boats beware. Also, watch out for the winds which can get whipping up this long lake. Check out the south end liily pads for some big bass!
