I have been fishing the sammamish river lately with a spinner in the fast parts and been getting some cutthroat trout! pretty easy river but if you want a real river try the skykomish when it opens in june! just throw out a rooster tail!

That's because it's not really a river. It's the Sammamish Slough. I'm not sure what jack hole(s) decided to start calling it a river. It's basically the flat / frog water between Lake Sammamish and lake Washington. The elevation drop if I remember correctly is less than 30 ft., that does not equal fast water. Outboard and Hydro races used to be held on it. Now that was a good use of the water way! Any way it can be a good place to fish, just pick a spot where any road goes over it and hit the Burk Gilman and go as far as you want. Remember to read the regs and understand them, there's a lot for that stretch of water and pay special attention to the C&R rules and handling.

I fish in Woodinville at the Wilmot Gateway park down the path a little bit where it gets fast! And Bodo there are some fast parts in the slough! and gsus32 all you gotta do is get a single hook rooster tail and cutt the barbs and just throw that out and reel it in! No bait! Right now there are cutthroat trout, sucker fish, rainbow trout, pikeminnow, and chub in it! You will most likely catch a pike minnow or a cutthroat trout! I have been fishing it lately and catching cutthroat in the 6 to 11 inch range! Good luck
