Has anyone tried for summer steel here? I was at the spillway all weekend and netted 2 for a guy and i lost one.. I've been talking to my buddy who drifts it on his boat and he had his Limit with another person. This Is a great river!

Haven't tried it this year yet but they should be starting to trinkle in slowly, last year I remember watching a dozen swimmimg upstream from a bridge around mid july in a matter of a 1/2 hour.

Not yet, want to float it in the not-to-distant future. Do you know if the WDFW ever put an official yes or no on wether the selective gear rules were a missprint or not for 7400-white bridge?

I've been fishing it, it's been good to us. Throwing cutthroat spinners with light tackle in skinny water is so much fun, it's one of my favorite rivers. They've been hammering the lower river from the drift boats, and that's how you know there are fish.

I don't know. I'll tell you guys a secret... If you're on a driftboat don't fish the lower, My friend has been fishing White Bridge to Black Creek and he got 5 today... I'm going on his Boat tomorrow. Hopefully we'll get our limit. Fish It during the week side drifting with fire cure eggs or even Shrimp! The weekends are always packed so the fish are scatered. Every weekend I'm at Wynoochee Wildwood at our campsite. If anyone wants to fish at the spill way or a spot that i know I could let you in! messege me our Pm me if interested.

Seems like every river is like that now, fishing is nonexistant during the weekend unless you have first water but come monday all the weekend warriors leave and the real deal fisherman/locals/guides start catching fish.
Where is the spill way you are talking about, is that at the dam or something, I normally just fish black ck area so I am not too familliar with the upper area.

I usually only fish from bob's bridge up, I leave the lower river to the drift boats and other folks around. First water on a river so heavily pounded all week by drift boats is near impossible unless you go where they don't. But it's a good run, and there are plenty of fish to go around. I'd like to spend more time down there, but the Sky is the popular spot in my book these days. With the kings opening I'll be lucky to get to the nooch at all again this month! Not that I'm complaining.
