OK everyone, a great suggestion by Mikey to add a definition page - and you can help. Place the word and then the definition. Use the format as seen in the below sample. After we have a big enough list Aaron and I will alphabetize (spell check!) and post it to the site. Any word or phase pertaining to fishing is fair game. Here's a start:

Flipping - a primarily bass fishing technique used to accurately and gently present a bait into a difficult to cast to location/cover. Done by a pendulum-motion of the bait and manipulation of the line.

Just a thought but in the rules and reg. magazine there is 2 page of fishing def. there isnt any slang or anything like that mostly just common sense stuff but it might be a good start and get people thinking to where to start putting in some of their own def.

I would like to know the definition of (drains)?

Under the special rules for the Yakima River it says

"Yakima River (Yakima Co.)
entire river,including tributaries and drains"

is it anything that drains into the river or is it some kind of irrigation feature?

Think My guess would be irrigation gate. Anything that flows into a river/stream is usually called a tributary.
e-mail the game department to be sure.

Just a suggestion... so that we don't actually have to rewrite all of this.. could everyone please follow Mike's format to the letter???

Example:

Fishing Term - My description of the fishing term.

Put the word, space, hyphen, space, description. No words in all caps please or we will have to erase them and fix them...

thanks... ;)

Right on.

The gods do not deduct from a man's alloted span the amount of time spent fishing. So why am I not out there?

Nightcrawler - A large species of worm that is often used by fisherman. They often surface in the evenings, which is when many anglers collect them.
