Let's all make an effort to expand the photos of lakes around the state. Obviously everyone on this site owns a computer. Most people have a digital camera. When you are planning on fishing a lake, check the lake index and see if there are any photos of the lake and the launch area under the lake description. If there isn't, take your camera with you and shoots about 6 pictures. Download them to the computer and e-mail them to Mike Carey.

I was looking at the lake description of Lake Washington and was surprised to see that there was over 500 fishing reports and no photos of the lake! I have got one in the Spokane area that I have to do. West Medical, one of the most popular lakes in Eastern Washington, has no photos d'oh!

It would be geat to have mee-mail box crammed with lake pictures. Usually a half dozen is all that's needed, depending on the lake size. Don't forget photos of the launch and parking area, parks, views around the lake.

Thanks for the help as this is one big state and much as I'd like I'll never get to all those lakes!

Mike, can you make this post a "sticky"? That way it won't get lost in past topics.

I probably have 50 or more photos of launch ramps that I could scan and send in.

A nice bass is too valuable a resource to enjoy catching only once.

I'll be doing what I can to help this year also. I'll see if I can't get a couple of Marc with a few of the local beauties.

The pictures of Alice are Mike's. Adding to them would be his call.

I have submitted additional photos of lakes showing areas that were not taken originally. He has posted those if the scenes are different. He does want to keep it around 6 pictures. Larger lakes like Washington and Chelan would probably need more. But again, it is up to Mike.

That is a good idea. I know nothing about Lake Washington. I don't even know how many launches there are. With so many members fishing the lake, you guys should be able to cover it quite well.

What we don't want to do is to bog down Mike with tons of duplicate pictures. Check the lake index first before sending him more pictures of the same.

wow, this is great! The 6 pics is kind of a rule of thumb, it can be more if the lake in question is large and could benefit from more shots. Lake Washington could have hundreds but we do need to have a limit. ONething that would definately help me is if you could have the pics resized to the web, which means the picture is usually under 150K each. I'll try my best to keep up with ya all...

When I submit pictures I have on Kodak Easyshare, I can save the photo in several different sizes. I choose "best for email" and it saves the photo at about 95-120k. "best for web" drops the size down to about half again. I find that "best for email" works best.

I'll help out, too. Mostly SW Washington and hopefully Terrell and Campbell Lakes up north.

With the March 1 openers here, remember to take your camera and take pictures of lakes that aren't in the lake index.

Many people will be out fishing more since spring is now arriving. Remember to take some pictures of the lakes and the boat launch areas. Also, check the lake description and see how much information is posted. If it is pretty vague and you know the lake quite well, send Mike an e-mail with the addition information on the lake. He can add it to the lake description.

Every photo and additional lake information is greatly appreciated. Remember, in the next site upgrade coming soon, there will be lake and river reports for both Idaho and Oregon. These waters are going to need both photos and descriptions. Right now I think that all the Oregon and Idaho listings have just the name of the lake.

For river fisherman, photos of rivers will help also. It would be great to have pictures of access points and launches.

With everyone chipping in, we can make this the most informative source of information about N.W. waters on the entire web.
We are well on our way to achieving that goal. Let's kick it up another notch. cheers
