When I want to use my pontoon boat with a battery operated motor ie..Min -Kota what if the battery gets wet? Can a battery get wet and still funtion properly?Or is it very dangerous?My toon has a motor mount and a wire basket for a motor.Do I need to enclose the battery for safe operation?

When youre up to your rear end in alligators,its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

A few splashes shouldn't hurt it. dunking it????? I'd think about some sort of battery box for the 'toon. Cheap insurance.

Give a man a fish and you fill his belly. Teach a man to fish and there goes the yard!

If it rains my battery gets wet (SO DOES THE MOTOR) and nothing has happened.

As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.

Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health.

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of poop

As long as it doesn't get dunked in salt water it will be ok, I am in the marine industry and have had quite a few customers with bellows problems and there batteries were actually still functioning properly completely submereged under fresh water.
